Previously a lesser-known alternative to the famous Azure Window, the Wied il-Mielaħ Window gained prominence after the Azure Window collapsed during a storm in 2017. This natural arch is found at the end of the Wied il-Mielaħ Valley and is easily accessible by road. The arch's limestone structure is still in excellent condition, making it a unique natural window.
Seeing the Wied il-Mielaħ Window in person is an awe-inspiring experience. Formed by the Mediterranean sea and storms cutting through the cliff, the window appears as a massive rock formation suspended over crystal-clear waters, creating a magical sight. Visitors can explore the area on foot or get a closer view by sea.
The window itself is a significant tourist attraction, but it is far from the only point of interest in the area. The surrounding valley is perfect for exploration, especially during the spring and autumn months when the landscape bursts into life. The valley and areas around the window are dotted with vibrant natural flowers, providing a stunning Mediterranean backdrop for photos. Additionally, opposite the window, a small passage offers a view of another cliff window from a distance.
